I don’t know how we’re already nearing the end of December, but we are and that means it’s time for holiday cookie box 2022!
It’s no secret that this is my favourite time of year for baking – the holiday baking possibilities are endless! My problem this year was deciding what was going to make the cookie box cut, and what wasn’t. I’m only now realizing that the box has a very brown/beige feel to it, so I promise next year’s box will be more colourful!
Like I’ve done for the last few year’s, I had two slightly different versions, one with macarons and one without. Macarons don’t travel well so my out of town friends don’t get those (this probably means they should all move back!). Instead, they get gingerbread biscotti which was such a hit among them all last year that it had to be included in this year’s box.
This year’s box has some repeats and some new ones. Let’s talk about them.
Making a repeat appearance, we have:
- White chocolate peppermint cookies
- Ginger cookies
- Brown butter dark chocolate orange cookies
- Hot cocoa macarons
- Chocolate hazelnut macarons
- Peppermint macarons
- Gingerbread biscotti
The new cookies are:
- Chocolate peppermint shortbread cookies
- Peanut butter blossoms
- Brown butter chai cookies
- Champagne macarons
(The recipe for the chocolate peppermint shortbread cookies will be coming later this week, I promise!)
All of the boxes I’ve mailed have made it to their destination (according to USPS) and I’m hoping the recipients love their cookies. I already know one box is going to be placed in someone’s work cafeteria so random strangers can try them, which is a little intimidating. Here’s hoping the lovely people at Forbes aren’t too hard on me!
Local boxes have also been delivered and let me tell you, there is nothing I love more than seeing the look on people’s faces when they are presented with a box of cookies. It’s the absolute best feeling!
Happy holidays, friends! I hope you have lots of cookies to enjoy 🙂
