Stop what you’re doing right now and make this dark chocolate orange biscotti. I’ve made a lot of biscotti over the years and this is 100%, without a doubt my favourite.
Citrus, you guys. It makes everything better. I mean, an already tasty treat is elevated just by adding a little bit of fresh-squeezed orange juice and some orange zest. My citrus obsession has reached new heights over the last couple of weeks and I’m so excited to share all of these fun, flavourful recipes with you.
I think the bitterness of dark chocolate pairs perfectly with the sweetness of fresh orange juice. I basically bought the biggest orange I could find for these biscotti, threw in all of the zest and a generous tablespoon of the juice. That addition makes these biscotti, guys. Don’t skimp on the zest or freshly squeezed juice. I promise you’ll love the end result. So much orange flavour!
Pair the biscotti with coffee, or tea, or hot chocolate, or if you’re feeling really fun, a glass of orange juice for that extra pop of citrus flavour. It really doesn’t matter what you pair it with, just do it.
Biscotti is designed to be enjoyed with a drink. A crispy, crunchy biscotti dipped in a hot drink is the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. I’m a big fan of Earl Grey or coffee with mine, but do you. My coworker has recently been drinking a lot of orange tea, maybe try them with that? Or passionfruit which is my current go to during the afternoons at work.
Work is tough, tea and biscotti will get you through it.
Get yourself an orange and some chocolate, and head to the kitchen to make these dark chocolate orange biscotti. Just try not to slice your knuckles on the microplane…
Notes
If you want, you can drizzle some chocolate on top to take these bad boys to the next level!
