Let's Bake Together

Strawberry Rose Maple Gin & Tonic

This strawberry rose maple gin & tonic might be my new favourite way to drink gin.

Portland doesn’t quite understand that we’re in September now and we’re bracing for a mini heatwave so this feels like a good weekend for a few gin and tonics, right?

I’m a gin and tonic girl. One of the many fine qualities I inherited from my mother! Something about a cold gin and tonic on a hot day just makes so much sense and this one is PERFECT.

This is a very easy cocktail to make and it’s only got a handful of ingredients. Here’s what you need: ice, strawberries, Runamok Maple strawberry rose maple syrup, gin, and tonic water. Told you it was easy!

The strawberry rose maple syrup from Runamok Maple is the same maple syrup I used in my strawberry raspberry galette earlier this year. They have the BEST maple syrups! I love baking with them, pouring them on top of waffles – the possibilities are endless!

I know maple syrup might sound like a slightly bizarre thing to add to your gin and tonic, but trust me, it works. A good quality maple syrup makes all the difference. I like to add stir the maple syrup and gin together before adding the other ingredients. This allows the maple syrup to really infuse into the gin.

So we’ve got maple syrup and gin. Then we’ll add in our ice and sliced strawberries (as much or as little as you want), and top it all off with tonic water. An added bonus? Gin infused strawberries. I mean, you really can’t go wrong with this recipe.

Gather up your ingredients, friends, and make this drink. This strawberry rose maple gin & tonic is the late summer drink you didn’t know you needed. The perfect drink for a hot day!
