Let's Bake Together

Old Friends & Class Projects

Last week my roommate from my freshman year at OSU and her boyfriend came to Portland from her home in Hawaii. She’s moving back here in a couple of months and was checking out apartments so she has a place to live when she comes back. We hadn’t seen each other since 2010 and it was so good to see her again. It was so fun to catch up and show both her and her boyfriend around town. Michelle and I had some really good times while we were at OSU and we made a habit of going to Blazer games – proud to say I made her a fan of good ol’ Rip City! We forgot to take pictures when she was here, but here are some pictures of us back in our glory days 🙂

See how adorable we were?! Best roommate ever! I’m so excited for her to move back here so our crazy adventures can continue.

I’ve been working really hard in my classes this past week. I had to do a costing book which involved costing out all the the ingredients for 20 different recipes and determining how much it costs to create each dish. So, so glad I’m done with that – without a doubt one of the most time consuming projects I’ve ever had to work on. I’m now moving on to a project for my other class. This one involves planning my own restaurant complete with a menu, layout/design, concept, ideal location and pretty much anything else you can think you would need to plan for opening your own restaurant. It’s a very similar project to one I did last term; unfortunately I can’t use the same restaurant I already planned so I’ve had to come up with something else. Fingers crossed it all works out!

Yesterday I made/photographed my special St. Patrick’s Day recipe for The Oregonian. I made them with my friend Taylor and we had some people in her apartment complex taste them for us. They were a hit and I can’t wait for you all to get the recipe. Once it’s been published in the paper I can post it here so be on the lookout for that. I’ll also post the link for the recipe in the paper over on my Facebook page so you can see it over there. Here’s a very little sneak peek of what it is. I’ll let you all speculate until the recipe is published 😉

I hope you all have a wonderful end to your week and weekend! I have some exciting things planned for the next few days and I can’t wait!!
