Cookie season has been in full swing over here and I’m finally coming at you with my 2021 holiday cookie box!
I made two different cookie boxes this year – one that I could ship out to a couple of friends spread around the country and one to give to my local PDX friends and family. The only real difference was that the boxes I shipped out didn’t have macarons. I still haven’t figured out how to ship those without them breaking en route. Maybe I’ll tackle that challenge in 2022!
The number of cookies I made for cookie boxes this year was unreal. I put together 12 large boxes and three small boxes. Baking all of these cookies right after baking all of the desserts for my sister’s wedding was probably not something all of the specialists working on my knee would approve of, but I enjoyed it.
I’m tired, and kind of don’t want to make cookies again for a while, but it was fun.
Who am I kidding? I’ll be baking cookies again in no time. I’m basically my friends and family’s own personal cookie lady!
Let’s talk a little about the cookies featured in the 2021 holiday cookie box, shall we?
First up, the box that was shipped as far away as New York!
This one contained:
- Spiced cookies
- Double chocolate mint cookies
- Vanilla bean snickerdoodles
- Brown butter chocolate chip cookies
- Ginger chocolate chip cookies
- Gingerbread biscotti
The local cookie box had 4 of those cookies, but instead of spiced cookies and gingerbread biscotti, there were four different macarons!
And that’s it! It sounds like the gingerbread biscotti were the hit of box #1 and I’m so excited to start dropping off box #2 to friends and family this week. Cookie season is the best season!
